NoFluffPicks data methodology

NoFluffPicks Stats presents match data in a consistent, comparable format. This page explains the records we use, when statistics are updated and how historical facts are kept separate from pre-match analysis.

Coverage and updates

Match, league, team and player pages are built from licensed sports data stored in the NoFluffPicks database. Fixtures can change after an organiser's decision, so time, status and venue are updated when revised source data arrives.

Scores and match-flow statistics are published as post-match data only after the fixture is confirmed as completed. Cancelled, postponed and suspended matches receive a separate status.

How statistics are calculated

Form, points per match, goal averages, BTTS, Over/Under and clean sheets are calculated from completed fixtures in a defined season and an overall, home or away sample. The number of matches in that sample matters when interpreting every rate.

xG and other advanced metrics are shown only when the relevant data is available. Missing values are not replaced with zero, and different seasons are not combined into one match profile.

Historical matches and predictions

A historical match page reconstructs the context available before kick-off: earlier team form, season results to that date and previous head-to-head meetings. Later fixtures are not added to that snapshot.

Public Stats pages explain data and context. Full betting analysis, picks, value assessment and reasoning remain a separate layer in the NoFluffPicks app.

Data corrections

A provider or competition organiser may correct a score, lineup or statistic after a match. When corrected source records arrive, related pages are updated. To report a suspected error, email picks@nofluffpicks.com with the page address and the value to check.
